You asked, we answered. In our first few issues of Starglow Weekly, some readers shared that they want our future newsletters to include kid-friendly, healthy-ish recipes that are easy to make. And we’re happy to oblige, because we get it. Having to feed a kid three times a day is hard.
But since we’re not exactly chefs ourselves, we sought out the experts—Instagram influencers, obviously—and culled five of our favorite accounts that are chock full of yummy foods and valuable tips. Here are five foodie influencer moms to follow and why we think you’ll love ‘em:
@yummytoddlerfood. Amy Palanjian is a writer, author, mom, and recipe developer who’s amassed more than 1 million followers who eat up (sorry!) her easy-to-follow kids meals. Her popular dishes include variations on mac and cheese with hidden veggies, 20-minutes-and-under weekday dinners, and healthy side dishes to pair with freezer staples like dino nuggets.
@kidfriendly.meals. Min Kwon is a registered dietitian and mom of two whose page features a mix of easy family dinners and make-your-own snacks with less sugar and more wholesome ingredients. She varies up the cuisine with Asian-inspired dishes like sushi bake and healthier versions of muffins and baked goods.
@food.kids.love. The main appeal of cookbook author Jane Kim Nicholson’s grid is that she plates everything that she makes so nicely, especially her kids’ lunches in bento-type boxes. What kid wouldn’t want to eat a puzzle-shaped sandwich or heart-shaped fruit? As far as specific recipes go, here you’ll find everything from breakfast burritos to kid charcuterie boards to protein-packed sesame noodles.
@zaynesplate. Named after one of her children, Simone Ward’s account focuses on baby-led weaning foods for babies and toddlers. We love to see how she makes everyday grown-up foods like chicken legs, egg muffins, and waffles work for little ones, with minimal prep required on the parent’s part.
@2bkidss. This account is the kiddie offshoot of Instafamous registered dietitian Ilana Muhlstein, where the mom of three teaches parents how to incorporate more veggies into their kids’ diets. From smoothies to protein-packed bagels to ideas for balancing carb-heavy meals (why not add a side of broccoli on pizza night?), Ilana’s got tips for all kids’ taste buds.
